The Owens Families

Note: Jesse mentions not only his wife, Sarah; and his three youngest sons, Samuel, Jason, and Jefferson, in his will but also a slave boy: "I further wish my negro boy Bartley to go to the use of my beloved wife Sarah Owens and my son Jason so long as either of them shall live."

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jesse by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jesse:

hello everbody, I have been researching Allied familes in Old Buncombe county and and SC. I have this family as Owen rather than Owens.

That is what they call themselves up here to this day. I can add some details and relations, but don't want to muddy the waters.

Owens-2108 and Owens-160 appear to represent the same person because: Hello, these are duplicate profiles of Jesse Owens, a number of duplicate profiles of the children have already been merged. If PMs agree, please approve this proposal. Thanks a lot
