Biography

William Carroll Owens was born abt 1819 in unknown location and passed away before 1850. Place of death could be Arkansas as his wife, Harriet is listed as HOH, along with children on 1850, Washington Co., AR census. [1]

Research Notes

Possibly residing in Lincoln County, TN. See: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XHRY-2J3 There are three men in this household. The youngest is 15-19 (probably this William), his father (aged 50-59 and likely named William as well), and a probable grandfather, aged 80-89.

All other William Owen(s) residing in the counties known to the Owens family in AL , AR, and TN have William Owen(s) who are already married or ages of children that are inaccurate. Since this William did not marry until 1843, (at about the age of 23 or 24) he was probably still living with parents in 1840.

Parents could be William P. Owens who married Mary M. Glasgow on 17 Nov 1819 in Madison, Alabama.
