Benjamin was known as the "Gadget Padgett" because he invented a simple wooden machine that allowed the shifting of colored paper to represent statistical trends in motion. He was paid a large sum for the Graph Device from a major business machine company in the first half of the 20th century.
He was considered a pioneer in the modern science of "Logistics" for the US Army also.

Mark Cato
He was an inventor, as well as a professor at West Point Military Academy and an advisor on the War Cabinet during WWII. His graphic computing devices and logistics inventions aided in getting troupes and supplies to the front lines during the war effort. His inventions were also a major contribution to modern computing technologies, and have been referenced in patents as recently as 2015. He also held the rank of lieutenant colonel in the US army. (I am his great-grandson.)
