Corporal Swain Parcel served with 1st New Jersey Regiment, Continental Army during the American Revolution.
Swain Parcel was born about 1757 in new Jersey. His mother was Rachel (Westcott) Parcel.[1] His father was either Nicholas or Thomas Parcel.[2]
Around 1778, he married Sara Bedford in Essex, New Jersey.[1]
During the American Revolution, he served on the field of battle, beginning around 1777. On 20 Jul 1781, he was promoted to Corporal and served in Colonel Mathias Ogden's 1st new Jersey Regiment, Continental Army.[3][4] He was allowed a pension for his service, No. S.34,466.[5]
Swain Parcell passed away about 1820 in Jefferson Township, Morris County, New Jersey. The location of his grave is unknown.[6]
