Hello Jim,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in with project members. Please review the following and respond to let us know that you are content with your current team or if you would like to be more involved.

The Project operates in a team structure. There are currently three participant PIP Teams -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

There are currently three different Biography Teams - The Biography Team, the Abandoned Team, and the Popular Team. You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team whose members work on profiles from their watchlist and other profiles that interest them. Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (You will need your Wiki ID for both). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project Robin Shaules, Project Coordinator, Profile Improvement Project

Thank you for participating in past Thons as a member of the Toddlin' Tortoises. If you decide to participate again in January's upcoming Connect a Thon, the registration this time will be somewhat different. (You can read about it here.) We would love to have you join us again, but whatever team you decide to join will be lucky to have you!

Dear Jim,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. Please review the following and let us know if you are content where we have placed you or would like to be more involved.

We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team. You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team Level 1, working on profiles from your own watchlist and whatever else you find. Biography Teams Levels 2 and 3 will work on designated profiles for notables (Level 3) and everyday people (Level 2). Please let us know if you would like to help with another Team.

You joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018. We would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you would like to work at a higher level on the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile from your own watchlist that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If your profile is at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.

We would also like to invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (When you request to join our GoogleGroup, please be sure to include your Wiki ID). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements. You will find more information on the GoogleGroup.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project and WikiTree. The Project’s mission is to:

Make profiles beautiful! We clean up messy biography sections and sources, and try to set standards for attractive, useful, and well-written biographies, starting with those we manage.

We know you’re working on profiles *smile* We would like to hear about successes you’ve had toward the Project’s goals. We would also appreciate any feedback you might have to help us improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or privately via private message to either of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Robin Shaules Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

GEDMATCHj comparison shows: Largest segment = 12.0 cM

Total Half-Match segments (HIR) = 12.0 cM (0.335 Pct) Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 5.1 1 shared segments found for this comparison. 117925 SNPs used for this comparison. 50.818 Pct SNPs are full identical

5 generations back gives a lot of possible surnames for our common ancestor! My WikiTree tree is not complete; my ancestry.com is better, but I'm slowly moving them to WT because I think associating data with sources is a very good idea. I'd be happy to discover our common link.

Hi Jim,

Will you be participating in the Source-A-Thon next month? If so, I want to invite you to join the Mid-Atlantic Team again this year. I had great fun trying to keep up with you last year - you were my inspiration through that long weekend. ~ Star

Hi Jim,

I’ve not heard back from you so presume you don’t want to continue in the Canada Project at this time so have gone ahead and removed your badge. If that changes anytime you would be most welcome to re-join in the future.

Glad to hear you want to remain in the Ontario Project, Jim. We're restructuring the project, so everything's a bit up in the air at the moment, but I'll be in touch soon.

Thanks, Laurie, Ontario Team Leader and Ontario Project Coordinator

Hi Jim,

I haven’t yet heard back from you to say whether or not you’d like to continue in the Canada Project. Please can you let me know if you’d like to stay, what team(s) you’d like to be in, and let me know your e-mail address so I can add you to the project Google Group? If I haven’t heard back from you by this time next week I’ll assume you no longer want to be in the project and go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to re-join at any time.

Many thanks,

Susie

Hi Jim,

Greg Lavoie, Dave Rutherford and I have put a lot of work into restructuring the Canada Project. Have a look at the new project page.

You'll see that we've changed the project name to the Canada Project and the badge will be changed shortly. We've done this in order to provide lots of ways for people to contribute to Canadian Profiles. We've also moved towards a team approach with top level teams being lead by Project Coordinators and sub-teams being lead by Team Leaders.

Would you like to continue in the Canada Project, and if so, which team(s) would you like to be on?

Let me know if you have any questions. Once I hear back from you I'll add you to the Google group and get you set up in your team(s).

Susie

Jim, Please feel free to edit the profile of Morgan-15225 with the information you found. If you look at the history, you'll see that all I did there was identify the cited source as irrelevant, mark the profile unsourced, and adopt the profile. She's the sister of an ancestor of mine. I see that the information I edited in her mother's profile (Williams-32475) is consistent with what you found.

Hi Jim,

Are you still working on Hester (Clements) Knapp's profile? It says that you are making changes, but the note is from Dec 2017. She is ID Clements-95.

Thank you
