Alexander Parker was born to Robert Parker and his wife, Ann, and baptised in South Pool, Devon, England on 21 November 1742. [1] Following naming patterns, Alexander named his first boy after his own father: Robert.
Alexander married the sister of the local cooper, Joan Elliott on 17 January 1773 in South Pool, Devon. [2] They were both eighteen. They had a family of nine children: Robert, Alexander, John, Ann, Betsy, William, Edward (who died aged 8 months), Edward, and Elizabeth.
