Biography

Peter Parker was born about 1660 in Virginia (no records to confirm) probably the brother of Thomas allegedly born in Nansemond. He was the husband of Elizabeth Moore. He died about 1720 in Chowan North Carolina. A rough portion of his will, dated 5 September 1716 and probated in Chowan, North Carolina reads as follows:

To eldest son John the plantation whereon he now lives above Deep Run Branch, and one mare;
to son Thomas the plantation whereon I now live, and remaining part of my land adjacent Deep Run, three cows and calves, and one mare wen he is 18, or if his mother dies at age 16;
to son Joseph the 240 acres bought from John Early on the west side of Wishacone Creek adj. White Oak Swamp, 3 cows and calves, one young mare that his cousin Peter Parker has (when he is of age);
Joseph Thomas to pay 1200 pds of tobacco for my land at Elm Swamp; my plantation whereon I lived in Virginia to be sold or rented, and income divided among my three sons;
to daughters Mary and Ann 3 cows & calves at age 16; wife Elizabeth to have privilege of moveable estate during her widowhood, or childs share if she should marry, then divided among children excepting son John; Elizabeth Cranford to have the first calf from either of my cows in the possession of William Cranford; son John Parker executor; wit: Samuel Boreman (Bozeman?), John Wolch(Welch) and Peter Parker Jr.

Note the name Boreman/Bozeman? Could be Bazemore. Thus far the only maps referencing Deep Run are those of | "Deep Run Estates" 1856 in Henrico in Richmond but also along the James River. This general area and lands around Suffolk VA was where two very large families originated in the mid 1600's, The Parker and King families whose descendants migrated to Bertie co NC and intermarried through the 1700's and into the 1800's. a William King built the 'King-Bazemore House just west of Windor abt 1763. More specifically, Peter's son Thomas married the daughter of Prudence Parker Holland is was said to be from “Parker’s Mill”, Somerton Creek, Nansemond County near Pittmantown Rd and the present day Gates Co, NC border. Summerton Creek runs parallel and slightly above the current NC Border.
