Tabitha was born about 1759. She is the daughter of Elijah Parker and Martha Stiles.
The birth records of all of her children say that the parents are John Brown and Tabitha (Parker) Brown.
The Stiles Family in America -- Genealogies of the Connecticut Family (Henry Reed Stiles, 1895) on page 53 lists the following 5 children of Martha Stiles in the indicated order: Martha, Roxana, Jerusha, Tabitha, Esther. I have not found any birth or christening record for Tabitha.
Moreover on page 459 in Parker in America Charles O. Parker includes Tabitha among the children of Elijah Parker and Martha Stiles and says, "Tabitha m. a Brown. Their chn. were: John, Azra[sic], Ulysses, Hubbard, Hadessa and Tabitha." On page 460 Stiles O. Parker says, "Tabitha of the 5th, m. John Brown, eleven chn. -- 6th generation, among whom Haddison m. a Parsons; Tabitha, a Lyman; Jerusha, a Bean; Louise, a Smith; Almira, a McCleary."
So Elijah Parker and Martha Stiles had a daughter named Tabitha. According to birth records in Easthampton, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts a Tabitha Parker married John Brown, and they had a son named Agza[sic] and other children. One reason for believing that the two Tabithas are the same person is that in the last paragraph of the obituary that Lewis Parker wrote in 1847 for his father Stiles he states that Stiles was the maternal uncle of Rev. Arza Brown of the Ohio Conference. Moreover, the children in the birth records of Easthampton match those in the list of Charles O. Parker.
