René Patry, son of unknown parents, was born about 1625, possibly in Amailloux, the same town his first known child was born, Amailloux, France.

About 1647, René married [[Cousinet-1|Renée Cousinet (1627-bef.1675)].

The couple's first known child, Renée Patry (1648-) , was on born August 24, 1648 in Amailloux, Poitou, France.^[1][2]

René Patry was last recorded alive on his son Andre's marriage record in 1665. (Renée Cousinet, his spouse, was listed as deceased). There is no indication René migrated to New France. His place of death has been estimated to be Amailloux, France.

Research Notes

• This profile needs more research. Ficher has René re-marrying, and there are several profiles online that lists his father as Francois Patry without citation. Both are possible, but not proven yet.
• Amailloux to Airvault, France is about a 4 hour walk (18 to 20 km) making it possible that René travelled the distance.
• Patry or Pastry was not an uncommon name in that region of France during the relevant time period. Nor were René and Renée. Some of the church records have been lost to time. Without further information, René parents and birth information are speculation.
