According to an unsourced Ancestry.com file, Thomas Payne IV was born in 1245 in Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, and died there in1288, the son of Thomas Payne III and father of Thomas Payne V. No documentation has been found to support any of these facts or relationships and therefore his profile has been marked "disproven existence."
John Payn, born 1420 is the earliest profile for which there is confident documentation as of October 17, 2018. Because no documentatio has been found for any of the following ancestors of John Payn , they have been marked as disproven and de-linked from parents, spouses, and children.
In addition to the lack of any other documentation, the variance of birthplace without explanation from generation to generation is a source of suspicion. In addition, while there was a family of Paynes in Market Bosworth as shown in the Visitations, those shown here preceded by Visitation records by one or more centuries.
