Biography
He was born in Chatham County, North Carolina. He relocated with his parents to Chapel Hill, Orange County by the time he was nine years old. They later lived in Durham, where he worked throughout his adult life at Durham Hosiery Mills. His death resulted from a cerebral hemorrhage due to cardiovascular disease and arteriosclerotic senility. His burial was at Maplewood Cemetery (Old Section), Durham, Durham County, North Carolina, United States.
