• Note. Harry Peterson (see below) was my Great Grandfather. Until today, I did not know that Harry had a second wife. I do know that some of the following informations is incorrect howerer. Harry's birth mother was Samantha Reddick. His father was Samuel W. Peterson. After Samantha passed away, Samuel remmarried. His second wife's name was Irene Applegarth. Somehow, Harry's mother's name was entered as Irene Redick which is not correct.

Today is January 2, 2014.

Today I broke thru a huge wall. For about two years now I have been collecting info on Harry and his immediate family and I found a lot (unlocked some huge mysteries about him and his sister, Garnet) but I could not figure out what happened to Harry and his second wife Grace. One huge remaining question for me was when did he pass away and where was he and Grace finally laid to rest?

I have spent many hours doing researh on Harry (to the point of exasperation) but I could not (until now) find any clue to my big question.

This evening, on a whim, I did a google search to see if there was a genealogical website for Kent County, Michigan. It took me about 2 seconds to find one. I typed Harry's name into the search box and about 1.5 seconds later, there it was!!! Peterson, Harry (Husband) b. 1868; d. 1943. At first I wasn't sure but then I saw a birthdate of "1868" and I thought, OMG, this could be it? And then the proof I needed to be sure. Above Harry's name I see...Peterson, Grace C. (Wife) b. 1876; d. 1964; on lot with Harry. That left me no doubt...I found what I was looking for...finally!!

So, long story short, Harry and wife Grace were both laid to rest at the "Greenwood Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Michigan (along with no less that 40 other "Peterson's as well).
