Biography

This profile is part of the Peyton Name Study.

Micajah Peyton was born about 1832 in Clark, Indiana, United States, son of Elijah Micajah Peyton (1791–1851) and Elizabeth Jane Robertson (1800–1888).[1]

In the 1850 census Micajah (age 19) was in Wood Township, Clark, Indiana, United States.[2]

Micajah married Sarah Jane Smith on 13 January 1855 in Clark, Indiana, United States.[3][4]

In the 1860 census Micajah (age 28) was in Charlestown Township, Clark, Indiana, United States.[5]

From 1864 to 1865, Micajah served in H Co 38th IN Infantry, American Civil War.[6]

In the 1870 census Micajah (age 40) was the head of household in Charlestown Township, Clark, Indiana, United States.[7]

In the 1880 census Micajah (age 49), Farm Laborer, was the married head of household in Utica Township, Clark, Indiana, United States.[8]

In the 1900 census Micajah (age 69) was the married head of household in Seymour, Jackson Township, Jackson, Indiana, United States.[9]

Micajah was in a pension record in 1907-1933 in United States.[10]

In the 1910 census Micajah (age 77) was recorded as widowed in Center, Grant, Indiana, United States.[11]

Micajah died on 3 January 1911 and was buried in Terre Haute, Vigo, Indiana, United States.[12]

Eliza Robertson was born on 15 Jul 1800 Fluvanna Co., VA. She died on 3 Nov 1888. She was buried in the Miller Cemetery, Carr Township, Clark, IN. She appeared on the census of 1850 (ae49). She lived in Fluvanna Co., VA, and Mercer Co., KY.
