Benajah Phelps, born 30 Mar 1737 at Hebron, Connecticut, was a son of Mary (Curtis) & Nathaniel Phelps.
Benajah Phelps graduated Yale College 1761. He was ordained in 1765, then served as minister at Cornwallis Township, Kings County, Nova Scotia from 1766 to 1778.
He received a land grant of 666 acres in Cornwallis Township on 26 Sep 1769
He married 19 Nov 1766 at Cornwallis Township, Phebe Denison. They had 7 children, the first three born at Cornwallis Township:
The Benajah Phelps family migrated to Connecticut in 1778 in the cause of sympathy with the American Revolution. Benajah Phelps served as minister of Oxford Society in East Hatford (now Manchester), Connecticut from 1780 until his death.
Rev. Benajah Phelps died 10 Feb 1817 at Manchester, Connecticut.
