Biography

John Pickard was born circa 1622. He was the son of John Pickard and his wife, Ann. [1] probably in England. He arrived in Rowley, Massachusetts in 1646. [2] He married Jane Crosby on 29 Oct 1644 at Rowley, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[3] [4] [5]They had eight children:

  1. Rebecca Pickard Phips 1645 - 1668
  2. Mary Pickard Pearson 1651 - 1728
  3. John Pickard 1653 - 1697
  4. Sarah Pickard Hammond 1657 - 1713
  5. Ann Pickard Pingry[6] 1660 - 1740
  6. Samuel Pickard 1663 - 1751
  7. Jane Pickard Hazen (bef. 1666 - 1748
  8. Hannah Pickard Bradstreet 1670 - 1737

John Pickard was admitted to the Salem Church November 1, 1649, and was a proprietor of Salem. [7]

John Pickard died September 1683 in Massachusetts, his will was proved on 27 November 1683. [8]

John Pickard was buried at Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, on September 24, 1683.[9] His burial location is unknown.[10]

As this is an orphaned record, with no manager, and it has only one attachment (Jane Crosby), and the favored surname spelling is Pickard, not Pritchard, it seems best to not merge with Pickard 267.
