AGED PROSPECTOR AND MINER DIES
Joseph J. Pike, 77, who resided in Canon City for more than 40 years, died at his home there Monday night from paralysis. He was a mining prospector, hunter and trapper and was a familiar character on the streets of the county seat, although those who came in contact with him knew nothing of his career. He had no relatives in this community. He came to Colorado originally from Bolivar, Mo. An effort is being made by his friends to reach relatives in Missouri by means of telegraph, but thus far without success. Funeral announcements will be made later.
