Andrew Newton Pike was born on 27 January 1881 at Pleasant Hope in Polk County, Missouri.[1] He was the son of Thomas Pike and Menerva Adiline Adams.[2]
Andrew was described as being tall, of medium build, with brown eyes and black hair.[1]
Andrew registered for the World War I draft[1], but he never fought.[2]
Andrew married Pearl L.
In April 1910, Andy, Pearl and their two children, Davis and Orville, were living in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. The family had already lost a child by this date. Andrew was employed as a boilermaker at the railway shop. The family was living in a rented home at 2013 Springfield Avenue.[3] In 1918, Andrew was a self-employed farmer in Pleasant Hope.[1] In January 1920, Andrew, Pearl, and their four children, Davies G., Vernie Orville, Louellen, and Woodrow W., were living at Mooney Township in Polk County. They lived next door to Andrew's parents, and he was still a farmer.[4] In April 1930, Andrew, Pearl and their children, Vernie Orville, Louellen, and Woodrow W., were living in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri.
Andrew was employed as a salesman in the retail furniture business.
He owned a house worth $5,000 at 2306 North Weller Avenue.[5]
In April 1940, Andrew and Pearl were living in Springfield at the same address. Andrew was now working as a custodian at a masonic hall.[6]
Andrew retired two years before his death.[2]
Death
Andrew passed away from valvular heart disease at age 64 on 17 July 1945 at his residence at 2306 North Weller Avenue in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri.[2] He was buried on 20 July at Slagle Cemetery in Slagle, Polk County, Missouri.[2][7]
