MARY ANN BELCHER, BORN: 5-5-1814, DIED: 1882 KANAWHA COUNTY WVA:MARRIED:JACOB PINSON 11-26-1835 B: 25 MAY 1813 PIKE COUNTY KY DIED BLUE CREEK KANAWHA CO WVA JACOB PINSON LIVED IN MIDDLE FORK AT BLUE CAREEK KANAWHA CO WVA, HE WAS KILLED DURING THE START OF THE CIVIL WAR. HE WAS REPORTED AS A CONFEDERATE SYMPATHIZER AND TRIED TO PURCHASE AMMUNITION AT CANNELTON. UNION TROOPS PURSUED HIM TO HIS FARM, A FIGHT ENSUED, JACOB KILLED THE LEAD HORSEMAN, IN THE FIGHT JACOB LEFT HIS RAMROD IN HIS GUN BARREL AND FIRED A SHOT. HE SURENDERED, AS HE STEPPED OUTSIDE, ONE OF THE YANKEE SOLDIERS JUMPED HIM WITH A BAYONET AND KILED HIM. ONE OF HIS CHIDREN WAS KILLED IN THIS FIGHT ALSO.
