Selesie Pitre was born on 3 July 1816 in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. Her parents were Joseph Francois Pitre and Sophie A. Fontenot.^[1]

Selesie married Joseph Pierre Bay of Pennsylvania on 14 January 1836 in Opelousas, Louisiana.^[2][3][4]

Their children were:

In 1850 they were living in St. Landry Parish with a son and four daughters.^[12] In 1860, they were counted in Opelousas, Louisiana with six of their children.^[13] By 1870 she was a widow. She was living in Ville Platte, Louisiana with her two youngest children.^[14]

Selesie died at an unknown date after 14 July 1870, the date of the census in Ville Platte, Louisiana.
