Biography

Sarah was born in 1760 in Westfield, Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay Colony. She was the daughter of Philip Pitts and Mary (Jones) Pitts.

She was the first wife of Isaac Ensign, son of Datus & Lucretia (Seymour) Ensign. They married on 4 May 1780 in Westfield, Hampden, Massachusetts. Isaac and Sarah were the parents of Isaac, Charles (1783-1784), a second Charles, Elias and Salmon.

She died on 1 Apr 1790 in Westfield, Hampshire, Massachusetts. After her death, Isaac married Lydia Noble, daughter of Samuel and Catherine (Fowler) Noble and had 10 more children.
