He enlisted in the Army 10 Sep 1914 and was discharged 6 Jun 1919 after serving overseas. He was on a pension after he returned due to illness including Malaria. His occupation was a farmer, next of kin Mrs Lacey when he joined.[12][13][14]
He married Bertha Lillian Davison on January 15, 1921, in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. They had three children during their marriage.
He had one son and two daughters with Bertha Lillian Davison between 1921 and 1926. He died in September 1955 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, at the age of 72.
