Biography

When Walter Platts was born on April 11, 1884, in Rotherham, Yorkshire, England, his father, John, was 29 and his mother, Mary, was 29.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

In 1891 he was 8 years, living with his Uncle in Grassmoor, Hasland, Derbyshire, England, birthplace Rotherham, Yorkshire, England [7] [8]

In 1901 he was living at Hasland, Derbyshire, England with Arthur and Annie Lacey (sister) as a boarder.[9][10]

In 1911 Census on 2 Apr 1911 he was living with his sister at 15 Spital Lane, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. [11]

He enlisted in the Army 10 Sep 1914 and was discharged 6 Jun 1919 after serving overseas. He was on a pension after he returned due to illness including Malaria. His occupation was a farmer, next of kin Mrs Lacey when he joined.[12] [13][14]

He married Bertha Lillian Davison on January 15, 1921, in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. They had three children during their marriage.

He had one son and two daughters with Bertha Lillian Davison between 1921 and 1926. He died in September 1955 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, at the age of 72. [15]
