Biography

Mary Melinda Plunket was born May 1, 1834 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Her parents were William Robert Plunkett and Sarah Cade Kenedy.

Her family immigrated to Utah when she was 15 with the Henry Bryant Manning Jolley Company in 1852.

Mary married Nathan William Adams on February 15, 1855 in American Fork, Utah. They had eleven children.

  1. Mary Ellen Adams was born in 1857 in American Fork, Utah; died in 1862.
  2. Nathan Heber Adams was born on Jully 10, 1858 in American Fork.
  3. George James Duncan Adams was born on June 7, 1860 in American Fork.
  4. John Quincy Adams was born on December 10, 1862 in American Fork.
  5. Arza Adams was born on April 1, 1864 in American Fork.
  6. Sarah Sabina Adams was born on February 11, 1865 in American Fork.
  7. Isaac Adams was born and died on November 2, 1868 in American Fork.
  8. Mignonette Adams was born on January 21, 1870 in Washington, Utah.
  9. Alexander Adams was born on January 21, 1871 in Kanab, Utah.
  10. William Adams was born on August 30, 1874 in Kanab.
  11. Orpha Elzetta Adams was born on April 17, 1877 in Kanab.

Mary passed away at an age of 90 on November 13, 1924 in Kanab. She is buried in the Kanab City Cemetery
