Biography

David, son of Samuel Pollard and Mary (Solomon) Pollard, was born by 1707 as he would of been at least 21 years of age when he witnessed the will of Samuel Pratt, Sr. of Taunton on May 31, 1728.

David was brought before the Bristol County Court on April 8, 1735 to answer to the complaint by Mehitable Owen for "Begitting her With Child." He was ordered bound to appear at the next term as she had not yet "Delivered." He returned to court on the second Tuesday of July, 1735; fined three pounds and Mehitable agreed to the weekly maintenance. David ordered to be bound to save the town of any support charges. Samuel Pollard, his father, and Samuel Pollard Jr, his brother were sureties.

He married Lydia Woodward of Taunton, Massachusetts on July 29,1740. They had at least four children, as can be seen in the next paragraph, but none were recorded: Samuel, David, Lydia, Jeremiah and John Pollard.

Undated entry - David Pollard of Taunton, Massachusetts with his wife and four children were warned out of Raynham, Massachusetts. The order was returned to the court on 10 Mar 1752.

David's wife Lydia remarried to Matthew Moon 3 Oct 1764, so its assumed that he died sometime before then.
