Martha Pollard was born on 22 Nov 1811 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom and christened on 2 Feb 1812 at the Minster and Parish Church of Saint Peter-at-Leeds, Leeds, Yorkshire. She was the daughter of Thomas Pollard and Mary Knowles. ^[1]

In 1841, Martha Wordsworth (25) was living in the house of George Wordsworth (25, a plumber etc) along with the following children: Thomas Wordsworth (10) Ambrose Wordsworth (8), Mary Ann Wordsworth (5), George Wordsworth (3), Catherine Wordsworth (10 months) and Ruth Rushforth (11) in Cross Jerry Street (East Side), Leeds, England, UK. All of the household were born within the county. ^[4]
