Elisha Doss Porter Died June 29,1927 and was layed to rest in Paola, Kansas. On the death of his wife Sara Elvira Porter he was moved to lay beside his wife at Elmwood Cemetary in Chanute Kansas. By family- McGinnis. ∼Elisha's remains moved from Paola to Chanute in 1934, Ks (Elmwood)and laid beside his wife.

Porter-Elisha died Wednesday morning, June 29 st the home of his daughter, Mrs. B McGinnis,following an illness of a long time. He was born in Wilks County, NC, on March 20, 1852. For the past six years Mr.and Mrs. Porter have been making a home with their children,About a month ago they came to Paola to stay with Mr. and Mrs. McGinnis. Mr. McGinnis is employed with W.H. Marcham, as a painter and paperhanger. Mr. Porter is survived by his wife and eight children, Mrs. B McGinnis, Major Portor and Lemuel Porter, of Lomax, Kan.; Walter Porter, of Union, Nebr.,; William Porter and Edward Porter, of Quenemo, Kansas; Mrs Cora Warren, of Chanute; and James Porter of Ginloch, and 25 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, 107 West, Miami, by Rev. E. M. Daniels and burial will be in the Paola Cemetery. [1]
