Clinton, Iowa- John Pothof, age 63, of Clinton, died Tuesday November 15, 2011 at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will take place at 1:30 pm on Saturday November 19th at the Pape Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be from 12:30 until the service time on Saturday.
John was born on June 24, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Marvin and Bertha (Shockey) Pothof. John loved shooting pool. He also enjoyed watching his childhood hero John Wayne in westerns on the television. John was also a fan of war movies. Ever since he was young, John had a fond interest in cars and putting together models.
John is survived by two sisters; Mary Campbell of Chicago, and Kathleen Pothof of Breezy Point, MN; six brothers; Marvin Pothof Jr. (Kate), Elmer (Lorna), Robert ÙSTimÙT, Charles, Henry, and Harold, all of Clinton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Johanna and Martha, and a brother Marty.
Visitation:
A gathering of family and friends will be from 12:30 until the service time on Saturday.

A memorial service will take place at 1:30 pm on Saturday November 19th at the Pape Funeral Home.
