The death date you provide matches a death record in the Ipswich VRs, which states:

"Potter, Anthony, jr., s. Dan[ie]l, Sept. 21, 1757." Source: Essex Institute, compiler, Ipswich Vital Records to the year 1849 (Salem, MA: Essex Institute, 1910), Vol. 2:653. https://archive.org/details/vitalrecordsofip02ipsw/page/653/mode/1up

This appears to be the death of his grandson: Anthony Potter Jr., son of Daniel Potter (1698-1770),

I located his will which adds some children and gives an earlier date for his death, which I've updated. I attempted to locate will on FamilySearch, but those files for Essex are a disaster. You might be able to find it in the transcribed volumes there.
