Brief information on Elizabeth (Price) Boyd can be located in the county biography of her son Amor Boyd.[1] She is stated to have gone to Jackson Township, Jay Co., IN in 1846 from Belmont Co., OH. She is stated to have died at Jay Co. in 1874. She is listed on her son Amor Boyd's death certificate as being born in Ohio.[2]
Elizabeth Price married Cyrus Boyd at Belmont County, Ohio on 11 June 1840.[3] Cyrus is stated to have been 21 years old, and Elizabeth was 18. Cyrus was not a Quaker, since his wife Elizabeth was dismissed on 23 June 1841 for marrying outside the community.[4]
On 22 August 1845, Cyrus Boyd and his wife Elizabeth of Belmont Co., OH sold land to William Boyd.[5] By 1850, Cyrus, Elizabeth (aged 27), and their children John, Ruth, Amor, and Rachel were indeed at Jackson Township, Jay Co., IN. By 1860, Elizabeth's (aged 38) other children were George, Emaline, and Cyrus (F.), and by 1870 Elizabeth (aged 48) had Laura.[6] In 1887, her children are mentioned as heirs in the probate of her father John H. Price: Amor, George, Fremont, Ruth J. Rigby, and Rachel Register, "children of Elizabeth Boyd deceased wife of Cyrus Boyd".[7]
