To save time going to use Prichard, since they were illiterate, the name was spelled different from every location even down to my Father's family, he was educated so he spelled it the way the Welsh would have spelled it, some in the family spell it Pritchard.
Wm. Pritchett b. NC ca 1804 nicknamed "Cripple Bill" according to one census, said it was due to gunshot. (3rd Great Grandfather) who married Mary Lyon 1833 Lawrence County, KY
The same census indicated that Sara listed above suffered from fits, I assume she had epilepsy.
Re: Mary Lyon, My Grandpa Oliver told me that he remembered his grandmother carrying a bag of groceries over the mountain when she was over 100 years old.
