Biography
John Pringle died January 6, 1850, in Mayesville, Sumter County, South Carolina. He was buried in the "Old Pringle Cemetery," on Brewington Rd., in woods on Fincher Property next to Mayewood High School. The cemetery is now called the Brunson-Pringle Cemetery. We know from his headstone that he was aged 63 at the time of his death, and from that, we can calculate the year of his birth as 1787. There is a photograph of his headstone on his Find A Grave memorial, which may be seen here: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=65360607&PIpi=38491060
From the Will of John Pringle [1] we know that he married Elizabeth Newman and had an adopted son, Ralph Baker. We also get the names of his natural-born children, all named in his Will:

Martha Leah Ann Pringle
Lavinia I. Pringle
Mary Susan Pringle, who was unmarried at the time of her father's death, but later married James Burrell Brunson (1810 - 1879)
