Silas Rand Prowse was born on October 15,1858.[1] He was the son of Joseph Prowse and Agnes Jarvis. Silas was named after a Baptist minister.[2] He grew up on the family farm in Lot 33.[3]
On May 21, 1882, Silas was baptized as an adult in the United Church.
[4] Two of his siblings, Elizabeth and Henry, were baptized on the same day.
Silas married Agnes Crockett on November 24, 1886.[5] They lived on a farm on Brackley Point Road (Lot 33), where they raised 5 children.
