Bessie Selina Prowse was born on May 31, 1896 at Brackley Point Road and was baptized on January 26, 1899 at the York United Church.[1] She was the daughter of Agnes Prowse.
In 1901, Bessie was living with her uncle Phillip Prowse and his family on their farm on Brackley Point Road.[2] Her mother was living in Boston.[3] By 1911, Agnes had returned to Prince Edward Island. Bessie was living with her mother and her aunt, Elizabeth, in Charlottetown.[4] She was living with them as well in 1921 and 1931 and working as a teacher.[5][6]
Bessie never married. She lived to be 102 years old. She died on February 1, 1999.[7]
