Biography

Glbert Joseph Prudhomme was born in 1905, son of William Prudhomme and Ella Hamilton. He died in 1959.
On Friday, Feb. 13, 1959, at 9:48 o'clock p.m., GILBERT JOSEPH (JOE) PRUDHOMME, beloved husband of Vivian Bourdier, father of Mrs. Marie G. Dolese, Mrs. Dona Agnelly, Mrs. Patricia Miller, Mrs. Shirley Holt, Mrs. Mary Lee Roberts and Lois Prudhomme, son of Ella Hamilton and the late William L. Prudhomme, brother of Mrs. Effie Powers, Mrs. Aline Saucier, Mrs. Pinkie Granier, Mrs. Sadie Nicholson, Mrs. Bonnie Amy, Mrs. Louise Burleigh, Mrs. Marjorie Seigel, Mrs. Ines Burleigh, Mrs. Willie Mae Thomas. Also survived by 10 grandchildren. Age 53 years. A native of Opelousas, La. and a resident of New Orleans for 17 years.
Relatives and friends of the family, also employes of Atlantic and Gulf Stevedores, members of Ocean Ledge No. 144 F. and A. M., are invited to attend the funeral services on Sunday, Feb. 15, 1959, at 3 o'clock p.m. at the home of Jacob Schoen and Son, Inc., 527 Elysian Fields Ave. The remains will be forwarded Monday morning, Feb. 16, 1959 by the Lafonde funeral home, Opelousas, La., for interment in Myrtle Grove cemetery, Opelousas, La.
