Maud was born in 1901. She appears to be the daughter of Herbert Punchard and Annie Maria Glossop.[1][2]

Mother's maiden name Glossop according to GRO index
Annie Glossop and her father are 'boarding' in Herbert's home in the 1901 census. Although they do not marry until 20 March 1902, it's possible they presented as married for respectability when registering Maud's birth.
