Biography

John de Pympe, Esq, was born about 1390, Kent, England, he died 30 August 1421. John was the son of Reynold Pympe (1371-1426) and Miss Freningham. John was married to Miss Delsey, and the father of two sons, Reynold and John.[1][2]

John Pympe served in the duke of Gloucester's retinue in France, for 1415 and 1421.[1]

John Pympe of the retinue of the duke of Gloucester and William Perrot of Kent, paid the ransom for Charles Langeval, E101/48/2, no 41, 13 September 1416, bond; payment 1 November 1416. Ransom Note: Portion masters had to pay to King was L44 8s 11 d.[4]

John was the heir of his uncle John Frenyngham, when John Pympe died in 1421, the list of manors and lands included the Frenyngham inheritance.[2]

The Inquistion of John Pympe, Esquire, (Writ. 26 Nov. 1421) Kent. Maidstone. 29 November 1421. John Pympe was recorded as having died on 30 August 1421, and that his son Reynold Pympe was his son and heir, aged 4 years and more.[2]
