The Tumut and Adelong Times (NSW : 1864 - 1867; 1899 - 1950), p. 4. http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article139318621 WEDDING JONES— QUARMBY Batlow had a long glorious autumn and it was unfortunate that it should have ended just one day too soon for Miss Doris Anne Quarmby and Mr. Ronald Stanley Jones, who then had to celebrate their wedding at St. John's Church, Batlow, one of the most unpleasant days of the year, Saturday, May 25. However, no amount of inclement weather could affect the radiance of the bridal party as it entered the church to the strains of appropriate music supplied by Mr. E. H. Pursell at the organ.The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. C. R. Quarmby, wore a beautiful gown of embroidered magnolia satin with full-length three-tiered veil held in position with a coronet of tuberoses and carried a bouquet of frangipanni, tuberoses and carnations. She was preceded up the aisle by little Dianna Cook as flower girl, dressed in rosebud pink crepe with matching tulle headdress and carrying a basket of pink carnations; and her bridesmaids were Miss Gwen Jones and Miss Isla Quarmby, who wore gowns of jacananda blue crepe with matching blue headdress in veiling and fresh pink flowers, their bouquets being of pink carnations and delphiniums. The 'groom was attended by Mr. Eric Quarmby as best man and Mr. Philip Quarmby as groomsman.Rev. Dr. Alexander officiated and the dignified beauty of St. John's was further enhanced by suitable floral decorations.........................................
