Julia was born about 1847.
You will note that on the 1860 Census we find Julia and her older brother living with her mother who had married a Ketchem. The had moved to St Fransois CO MO at the time. It should also be noted that Caswell Nuckolls was know to be in the same area at the time and is most likely where they met.
Also of note is that there are two other younger siblings listed ages 6 and 4. This seems to indicate that John M. Randolph did not die in September of 1851 as some genealogies state. I beleive that is the death date of John's father. From this we can surmise that he lived at least until 1855 or later, as her had to concieve the youngest child. It is unknown at this time if he lived till the birth or later.
As the 1850 Census was taken on Oct 21 1850, and it list Julia as 5 then she had to have beem born prior to that day in 1845. I have seen some give her a date of 1847, and even June 3 1848. While I would not discount the June 3 part, nor can I confirm it at this time, it is not possible for the years to be accurate nor is it likely the June 3 is either. On the 1860 Census we see she is 14. It was taken on July 14 1860. So from this we can surmise that either it was misreported on one of the census, or that her birthdate is between July 15 and Oct 21, which I think is likely given the info on both census.
