Theophilius S. Ranes was born on October 28, 1824 in Lima, Allen, Ohio, United States, son of William Pendleton Ranes (1790–1854) and Elizabeth Thomas (1793–1875).
Theophilius died on August 13, 1901 in Lima, aged 76. He was buried in Bethlehem Cemetery, Lima, Allen County, Ohio.[1][2]
