Noel served in the 745th Battalion of Georgia Militia under Captain William Walker in the winter of 1813. In the winter of 1814-15 he also served in Captain Richard Walker's Wayne County Mounted Volunteers at Fort Wayne defending against an Indian attack. Noel Raulerson signed an affidavit in Camden County, GA, on March 18, 1822, that he was the lawful owner of a Negro man slave named Abraham about thirty years of age who was now about to be brought into the state of GA from the Province of East Florida. He stated he was a resident of Appling County, GA. Noel Raulerson was one of the first two settlers in the Lake City, FL, area of Columbia County. He had built a home prior to 1822 at the location that would later be the site of the Columbia County Courthouse. He did not remain there long but returned to Wayne County, GA.
