Biography

Joyce was born in 1944. She is the daughter of James G. Ray and Lauretta F. Schauer. After starting a business with her mother, Glass Junquetion at Movieland Frontier Town in Colton, CA, Joyce was invited to teach a Buying and Selling Antiques class. She did so for two years in the late 1970's at San Bernardino Valley College in the San Bernardino Community College District. It is one of 72 community college districts within the California Community College system.

Please don't think that I started National Aerospace by myself. If God had not been involved in every aspect of it, National Aerospace would not exist. In 1978 I needed to go to work and make enough money to raise my girls alone. I prayed for a job and I got a job through a friend who was a company Vice President. It was so difficult with lots of math, I thought I couldn't do it. One day on my way home from work I asked God why he gave me a job that I couldn't do. He answered like he was sitting next to me. I could do it.

I went back with a different attitude and learned that job so well that I realized God was teaching me what I had to know. It gave me confidence to start my own business to sell material to small businesses like schools, repair facilities and labs that didn't want large quantities like the others were selling. I had lots of help from friends in the industry.

The National Aerospace Supply Company (NASCO) was established in 1986 as a woman owned small business. Materials handled by NASCO meet the required specifications of Boeing, Lockheed, and McDonald Douglas. NASCO is an approved supplier of these companies and many other subcontractors.

NASCO is a sponsor for the Orange County and San Diego chapters of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) and sponsors Cerritos College Composite Classes. Projects at Cal State Pomona, Long Beach State, and Cal State Fullerton have been supported by NASCO.

This business is now 30 years old and supporting several families. It all belongs to God.

Joyce's wedding on Saturday, June 11, 1988 with Eugene Moenning was held at Joyce's home in Capistrano Beach, CA. Joyce had a broken leg at the time of the wedding. Officiating at the wedding was her cousin, Rev. Homer R. Schauer.
