Long Lived Rayner Family
The late Samuel Rayner (who died this week), was head of a highly-respected Muilamuddy family and was a member of a clan noted for Iongevity. At the time of his lamented death he had reached the great age of 96 years, and there are others in the family who are getting on. His youngest brother Mr. William Rayner, who was present at the funeral, has watched 87 summers come and go, while Mr Harry Rayner, another brother residing at Randwlck, has passed the 92nd milestone on life's journey. Harry, by the way. was for a great many years one of Australia's leading trainers.
Another mourner was Miss Mary Rayner, the eldest daughter, who is 71 years of age.
Very few families are as well known throughout the Mudgee district as the Rayners, and in the days of old they could easily put a cricket team In the field— in fact, they can do so to-day.
