Biography

Andrew Real was born in 1765 in Henry County, Virginia. [1] He was the son of Michael Reel and Anna Elizabeth Unknown. He married Mary Miller 15 February 1796 in Franklin County, Virginia. [2] He passed away 1 May 1818 in Franklin County, Virginia. He was interred in Beavertown Cemetery, Beavertown, Montgomery County, Ohio. [1]

Page 223 Will of Andrew Real, January 18, 1818; In the name of God Amen. I Andrew Real of the County of Franklin and State of Virginia being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed unto man to die, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into hands of Almighty God that give it and my body I recommend to the earth and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life. I give and demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First I give and bequeath unto Mary Real my dearly and beloved wife the third part of my whole and personal estate. I also give unto her the gray mare saddle and bridle to be her right and property to be owned by her and at her death all to go to Henry and David Real. 2nd. I also give and bequeath unto Henry Real my dearly and beloved son the third part of my whole estate and personally estate. I also give unto him the sorrel mare saddle and bridle to be his own right and property to be owned by him. 3rd. I give and bequeath unto David Real my dearly and beloved son the third part of my whole and personnally estate. David Real his part of the estate the money is to be put to interest till he becomes twenty one years of age he is to have a horse saddle and bridle equal to Henry's in worth to be wright and property when he comes of age. John Knowles and Henry Real of whom I likewise constitute make and ordain the sole executors of this my estate and I do hereby disallow revoke and dismiss all and every other forms Testaments, wills, legacies, bequest and executors by me in any wise named, willed, and bequeathed. Mallifying and confirming this and no other to be my Will and Testament. In ---- where of I have hereunto set my hand, seal this eighteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen, the forty second of the commonwealth. Signed, sealed and pronounced and declared by the said Andrew Real as his last will and testamenty in the presence of us, who in his presence and the presence of each other hereunto subscribed our names. Page 224 At a Court held for Franklin County the fourth day of May 1818. This last will and testament of Andrew Real deceased was produced in Court by John Knowles one of the executors herein named and proves by the oaths of William Lemon, James Hatcher and John Smith three of the witnesses hereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of John Knowles who took the oath prescribed by Law and together with George Turner, Henry Real and Alexander Ingram his securities, ordered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of One Thousand Dollars conditioned as the Law directs. Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate in due form, liberty being reserved to Henry Real, the other executor in the said will named to join in the Probate when he shall see fit. Teste.
