When Jane [1] Reese was born on November 12, 1838, in Augusta, Virginia, her father, [[Reese-35|Solomon], was 43, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 41. She married Jasper Newton Westfall on January 31, 1860, in Upshur, West Virginia. They had 12 children in 22 years. She died on May 9, 1889, in Upshur, West Virginia, at the age of 50, and was buried in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
