Thomas Reeves was born on March 5 1837, at Holywell Lane, Shoreditch London, England,[1] He was the only son and eldest child of John Reeves and Sarah Noah Decosta Thomas was baptised at St. Leonard's Church, Shoreditch on June 26, 1837.

He had three younger sisters.
Thomas married Mary Ann Brazier on February 6, 1861 at All Saints Church, Mile End, Stepney[2] They lived at 10, Ely Place, Mile End New Town, London, England. They had five chiildren, but Eliza, the third child, died at the age if four.
Thomas worked as a shoemaker.
The 1871 census lists Thomas with his wife and four children.[3]
In the 1881 census he was listed again with his wife and their four surviving children[4]
Thomas Reeves was mentioned under boot and shoe makers in the London Trade Directory of 1881, at 290 Devon's Road E.
He was also listed in 1890 under Boot and Shoe Makers in Kelly's Post office London Directory: Trade Secton:

Thomas's name is on the electoral roll in 1890[5] but not in 1891, therefore even though the estimated age is incorrect I believe he died in the summer of 1890 and that is his death was registered in the September quarter of 1890 at Stepney, London, England.[6]
