Hannah Revels was born about 1728 in Chester, Chester County, South Carolina, the daughter of Thomas Revels and Elizabeth Houseman.[1]

Hannah (19) married Dennis Crosby (23) in 1748 in Chester, Chester County, South Carolina. Their known children were:

  1. Richard Crosby was born about 1749 in Chester County.
  2. Lydia Crosby was born about 1753 in Chester County.
  3. Thomas Crosby was born about 1757 in Chester County.
  4. Mary Polly Crosby was born about 1757 in Fairfield County.
  5. John Crosby was born about 1760 in South Carolina.
  6. Mary Polly Crosby was born about 1768 in Chester County.

Her husband Dennis died in about 1771. She inherited two enslaved people from him.[2]

Hannah provided Patriotic Service during the American Revolution by furnishing supplies.[3]

In 1785, Hannah was paid for "forage for continental and militia use in 1781" during the US Revolutionary War.[4]

Hannah died on August 12, 1785 in Fairfield County, South Carolina. She is buried in the Dennis Crosby Cemetery in Fairfield County, South Carolina.[1]

Her gravestone reads "Revolutionary War Patriot buried Chester, South Carolina, wife of Dennis Crosby."
