Biography
William Reynolds was born in Kentucky.
William Granville Reynolds was born 4 April 1882 in Barren County, Kentucky, United States.[1][2] He was the son of James Reynolds and Darilla Lair. In the 1900 U.S. census, William was recorded as 18-years old, living in Justice Precinct 3 (south part), Grayson, Texas with his parents and siblings. He was employed as a farm laborer.[3]
He was married 25 April 1901 in Collin County, Texas to Pearl Prigmore.[4] In the 1910 U.S. census, William and Pearl were recorded living in Collin County, Texas with their two children, Mary J and Raymond Reynolds. She was the mother of four children, two living. [5] In 1920, Pearl and William lived in Dallas, Dallas, Texas with their five children, Mary, Raymond, Charles, Lillie and Harold. [6] In 1930, the couple and their three children lived in Mexia, Limestone, Texas. [7] In 1940, he was recorded in the U.S. census living in Limestone County, with wife and son.[8]
The 1910 U.S. census shows that he was employed as a school teacher. He was employed as a Post Office clerk for most of his adult life.[1][2][6][7][8]
William Granville Reynolds, age 76, died 7 February 1959 in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas, and was buried at Mexia City Cemetery in Mexia, Limestone County, Texas.[9][10][11]
