Robert was born on July 16, 1830, near Cartwright's Creek, Washington County, Kentucky. He was the son of John Rhodes and Louisa Edelin.
He was baptized on October 19, 1830, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Springfield, Washington County, Kentucky. His sponsor was Sevilla Medley.[1]
He died on March 1, 1867 in Big Spring Precinct, Meade County, Kentucky. He is buried in St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery, at Flaherty, Meade County. A memorial page can be found on Find A Grave.

1850 - United States Federal Census - In the 1850 census, John A Rhodes, 57, is living with his wife, Louisa, 55, in Meade County, Kentucky. Living with them are their children, John, 24; Martha, 22; Robert, 20; Benedict, 18; William, 15. Also with the family is 19 year old Richard Saunders. Both John's are farming.[2]
1860 - United States Federal Census - In the 1860 federal census, Robert Rhodes, 29, was living in Meade County, Kentucky, with his wife, Mary J. Rhodes, 24, and their son M M Rhodes, 1. Robert is farming.[3]
March 1, 1867 - Death - Big Spring Precinct, Meade County, Kentucky.
