Biography

Sarah was born about 1825 in Kentucky. She is the daughter of Robert Rhodes and Elizabeth Cissell.

Sarah was shown as the head of household in the 1870 Marion County, Kentucky, census. She had eight of her children living at home.

She passed away on September 11, 1895 in Marion County, Kentucky. She is buried in St. Charles Cemetery in St. Mary, Kentucky, and has a Find A Grave memorial page.

1860 - United States Federal Census - In the 1860 census, Albin Mattingly, 39, is living in District 1, Marion County, Kentucky, with his wife Sarah J. Mattingly, 30, and their children, John Mattingly, 17; Catherine Mattinly, 16; Charles Mattingly 13; Simeon Mattingly, 12; Mary Mattingly, 10; Daniel Mattingly, 8; Edward Mattingly, 5; and Albion Mattingly, 2.[2]

1870 - United States Federal Census - In 1870, Sallie, 38, is listed as living in St. Mary, Marion County, Kentucky, with her children, Catharine, 26; Charles, 24; Mary, 20; Danie, 18; Edwil, 14; Albert, 12; Benedict, 8; and Sallie, 5.[3]
