Amsia was the daughter of John Kenimore Rice and Amsia Caroline Key.[1] She married Linsey Willard Messer.[2] Their children were:
- 1. Robert F Messer 1921 - 1983
- 2. Levern Willard Messer 1927 - 2002
She died in 1941[3] and is buried in Whistler Cemetery - Therrell Annex, Mobile County, Alabama.[4]
