Luella Ricord (aka Ricard, Record, Rickard) was born in Indiana on June 29, 1865. Her parents were William Ricord and Sarah Jane Stevens. Luella's parents were married in Fayette, Indiana on April 7, 1864.[1]By the time Luella was five years old her parents had moved to Tebo, Henry County, Missouri.[2]
According to the 1910 U.S. Federal Census, Luella's parental grandfather, James Ashbury Ricord was born in Ireland, and her parental grandmother, Eleanor C. Heavern, was born in Scotland.[3] However, other census don't back this up. The 1880 U.S. Federal Census states that her paternal grandparents were born in Ohio, and her maternal grandparents were born in New York.[4]
Luella and her parents, William Thomas Ricord and Sarah Jane Stevens were both born in the state of Indiana. [2] Luella had two siblings:[4]
During the Kansas State Census in 1875, Luella (age 9) was living in the town of Colorado in Lincoln County, Kansas. Her mother, Sarah, had just given birth to Luella's younger sister, Georgiana. Luella's little brother, James was eight years old.[5]
Luella was married twice. Her first husband was Milo Blair Wright. They were married on September 16, 1883, near Monroe, Kansas in Lincoln County.[6]They had one boy who they named Edward C. Wright. Edward was born in 1884. Sometime between 1884 and 1891, Milo and Luella's marriage ended. Joseph Francis Lee married Luella in 1891.[7]
By the year 1900, Luella and Joseph had been married for 9 years. Joseph was farming rented land and Luella was taking care of three boys. Charles (age 7), Alvin Ray (age 6) and Orie (age 4). They were living in Lebanon, Laclede County, Missouri.[8] Joseph and Luella had six boys during their marriage:[3]
Luella (age 45) was living in the town of Boles, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, in 1910. She was busy keeping house and raising the six Lee boys. By this time, Luella had been married to Joseph Lee for 18 years.[3]
Luella died fairly early in her life at the age of 55 years old. The family had moved to Colton, San Bernardino, California.[9]
Luella Lee was laid to rest at the Hermosa Memorial Gardens. She was survived by her husband and all seven of her sons. [10]
